Embedding YouTube Video using BB Codes

Also very recently youtube disabled the old embed code but there was a work around to manually
enter the flash codes. I think they re enabled it though, just something else to watch out for
maybe.

So... does anyone know how to do the work around? I can't figure out how to make the damn thing work. They took away the old embed option. Also tried internet explorer, firefox, & chrome however still no luck...

Well that was bloody annoying. For those of you who don't want to spend two hours trying to figure it out I'll fill you in. I'll just walk through the whole process for clarity.

1) Go to youtube embed button

2) Copy/paste into your window

• For example it should look like this:
  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RgvKG7BZoLY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

3) Take out the data you need to use the Flash feature on the forum board

• The data you need is in color
  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/RgvKG7BZoLY?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

4) In your window (or post) select the Flash feature (or button)

• Should look like this after you've selected it:
  [flash=][/flash]

5) Now you fill in your data into the code. The Flash feature needs the size (width,height) and the url embed code.

• This is how the code looks:
  [flash=width,height]url embed code[/flash]

  Code: Select all

  Once you've done that your code should look something like this example:
  [flash=560,315]http://www.youtube.com/embed/RgvKG7BZoLY?rel=0[/flash]

6) NEXT: You change the word embed to a v

• Code: Select all

  After doing that your code should look something like this example:
  [flash=560,315]http://www.youtube.com/v/RgvKG7BZoLY?rel=0[/flash]

The end result looks like this:



Only took me two hours to figure out that simply changing the damn word embed to a v would make everything work, BLAH! I don't know whether to be proud of myself or think of myself as too much of a geek, haha. Anyway, the end result is the instruction on how to embed with youtube has been updated so others can do it.
