This isn't exactly true - the posts will remain under your name, but there will be no user profile associated with them.

If you want your account deleted, I would recommend PMing Splintercat about it. Very likely, he will suggest you just stop logging in (I don't think he likes deleting people), as it will basically have the same effect. ;)
