Hi all,
Two weeks ago I posted the trail closures for the government flats fire, over in the "General Topics" section. Last week, splintercat posted it again, the previous post having gotten pushed down off the first page.
And all summer long people have been trying to get to cloud cap, despite the many many TRs discussing the road closure.
So, having just one place to look for this kind of info, where it is less likely to get buried, seems like it could be more helpful.

A great idea, payslee! Hopefully there won't be so many that they get pushed off the first page!
Once a trail re-opens, could the article be deleted or at least the original subject header be altered? It would take a little work by the mods unless the original poster is around, but IMHO it would be worth the effort!

It could be added into the Trail Rx forum to make a "Trail Rx and Closures" forum....

Problem with that is that the "Trail Rx" section is for the USFS and other official agencies to check. Mixing in trail closures (which they already know about, I assume) would clutter up both purposes.
Again, the big issue with a trail closure forum would be altering the posts when the trail re-opens.
