Re: Site Downtime and New Host
Had some memory issues this morning which led to some more downtime. I'm not used to configuring apache/mysql for low memory instances, but I made some tweaks which should help.

Yeah the site has had some down time, over the weekend and today.

Site was unavailable for many hours today (Mon 13th). Not complaining cause I appreciate the hard work, but just saying.

Re: Site Downtime and New Host
Just so you know: I know you are doing wonders with this site, but it sure is having problems this week!
"Log me on automatially at each visit" seems to have stopped working--I have to relog in every time. Fortunately, my computer does its part by automatically inserting my username and password, and I carefully remember to check the "log me on etc" box each time. On one occasion (last night, as I recall), when I went into the site I was automatically logged in, but when I clicked "Unread Posts" it bounced me out. The site also is as slow as it was with the former provider.
No complaints about you, Dan, we love you for all the hard work you put in here! I just wanted to be sure you know what's going on here.
I know that doing a lot of searching slows things down; could it be that we need to ditch the "Unread Posts" feature? If others use it as much as I do, that's a lot of searching going on! Once upon a time we all got along without it!

Re: Site Downtime and New Host
That's weird. I've been using the site quite a bit and haven't noticed anything
Re: Site Downtime and New Host
I'd guess it's a SQL issue... Slow memory leak; needs to be bounced? I'm not getting the login issues, but it's slow as ever today. Classic low memory situation on the backside. (Not a complaint, just more troubleshooting data.)

Yup, today it's been really slow no matter where I'm navigating from - work (insanely fast Internet) home (30mbps download) and over 3G.
