Martell, a ? please...

Post by Eric Peterson » December 20th, 2012, 7:59 am

Does the e-mail user option show up somewhere when viewing a member profile
or just looking at a user while viewing a post? I see the PM button, which I use to
quickly PM someone but even though I have 'allow users to email', I don't see the
e-mail button.

Thanks sir :)

Hi Eric,

We have email addresses hidden globally for privacy. Are you seeing an email button at the bottom of each person's post? That is strange because it shouldn't be there.

Ahh, unfortunately I don't see the 'email' button.

Gmail is fairly robust in stopping spam, but I understand the reasoning if not a bit archaic. :)

Perhaps the "show" - "don't show" e mail button could be made a user option with the "don't show" being the default?

I was thinking it'd be nice as one of those user-configurable contact methods. (There's something like six different IM options in the profile settings!) That way, a throwaway email account could be configured for it, if folks wanted to set something up like that.
