Bug in Hike Selector

When you're posting a New Topic in the Trip Reports forum, there's a dropdown field that offers a list of hikes in the Field Guide that you can relate your post to. This helps folks browsing the FG find related TRs. Well, if you happen to press the Preview button while composing your TR, to see if the photos are working for example, that resets this hike selector dropdown. So it's real easy to Submit the TR and not have it related to anything in the FG.

Not sure "anyone" can do anything about this, but in case "someone" knows the inner workings of the forum software perhaps there's a tweak to make that selection persist?
