Can you add a link to NOAA on all of the Trailhead field guide pages that include Latitude & Longitude?
When researching places to hike I am constantly checking the weather forecast at the trailhead. This is a slow and manual process. I have the NOAA site open in one window, the field guide in another.
Then I manually modify the URL on the NOAA site with the lat/long for the trailhead.
Their URL is simple (https://www.nws.noaa.gov/wtf/MapClick.p ... it=0&lg=ep) and it should be no big deal to automatically generate a link for the weather forecast, just like the autogenerated links to google maps.
Thanks!

Re: Add NOAA weather links?
I use that whenever I go hiking some place. Great to have a weather report at that exact location. Especially, take into account altitude.
Yeah, there is a macro "maplinkinfo" that's used for (most) every location that gets the latitude and longitude. There must be some way to have it also put the link to NOAA weather.
Way above my pay grade though. If I had access to that code I'd probably break it and cause the site to go down. Or the greater internet
(which might be a prompt to someone that could do this)

I use the slightly different https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.p ... B4OQHbMLIV
This includes a small map that you can pan and zoom to any location, then click on it, and it will give you a weather report for that location.
You don't have to know the lat and lon numbers

Thanks. I tried it. That works. You didn't break anything
Good idea Jett. The field guide is a community project.

That's really cool! Thanks to Jett for a very useful idea and thanks to the admins for making it happen.

That was a deft sleight of hand, Adam. Many thanks!
By the way, over the past few months I've added links to your wildflower site where the FG is in concordance.
