Field Guide Hits Five Million Page Views!

Post by Martell » August 30th, 2011, 8:26 am

Yesterday the Portland Hikers Field Guide hit five million page views since March, 2008!

We are also just a few days away from hitting our one millionth visit*! Who will be number one million? Unfortunately, no lights will flash or prizes be awarded because we really won't know for sure. It's still exciting though.

Another interesting stat is that we've had 587k unique visitors. So this means we've had 587,000 people accessing the site from different IPs/computers (obviously it will count some people multiple times as you check from multiple places).

Each year since launch the traffic has just about doubled, peaking in the summer time.

*A visit is a trip to the site by one person, so we are averaging about five page views per visit.

10. Horsetail Falls Loop
11. Cape Horn Loop
12. Timberline Trail
13. Council Crest
14. Ramona Falls
15. Sandy River Delta

Hooray!

After spending a frustrating summer trying to research hikes near Seattle using the WTA site and nwhikers.net trip reports, I find the Field Guide far superior! It is so much easier to use and (except for some nwhikers.net trip reports) gives far more detail!
