Fire closures: September 2022

Post by bobcat » September 11th, 2022, 1:16 pm

I've updated the Field Guide to include all current fire closure areas. Here's a list of the closed hikes in the Field Guide:

Closed Hikes

Cedar Creek Fire (Willamette N.F.): all trails in the Waldo Lake Wilderness, east to the divide and west along Bunchgrass Ridge.

Cedar Creek Fire (Deschutes N.F.): Southern part of the Three Sisters Wilderness - trailheads from Wikiup Plains south to Davis Lake, east and west of the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway.

Double Creek Fire: all trails in the Hells Canyon Wilderness from Dug Bar Road south to P.O. Saddle

Nebo Fire: Wilderness boundary south of Mt. Howard to Hawkins Pass and the South Fork Imnaha

Sturgill and Goat Mountain fires: Northeast section of the Eagle Cap from the Lostine Road and Horton Pass west to the wilderness boundary, including China Cap

A lot of the trails don't seem to have field guide entries, but essentially everything west of the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway is closed as well, from the Cedar Creek fire:

Closed THs:
Blue Lagoon Trailhead
Charlton Lake Trailhead
Corral Swamp Trailhead
Deer Lake Trailhead
Elk Lake Trailhead
Irish & Taylor Trailhead
Lemish Lake Trailhead
Lucky Lake Trailhead
Many Lakes Trailhead
Moore Creek Trailhead
Sisters-Mirror Lake Trailhead
Six Lakes Trailhead
Winopee Lake Trailhead

Thanks. I forgot the Deschutes National Forest piece. Now amended.
