FYI - The Center Road Trail is no longer accessible from the Refuge HQs making the loop described in the Field Guide Entry impossible. We were there on 6/11/22 and the gate, including the pedestrian gate at the eastern end were signed as closed and padlocked. We did hike from the west end and you can get within sight of the HQ (1/3 of a mile or so) but then they have multiple signs along the road stating it is the end of the trail and the area beyond is closed.
Below is copied from the Refuge website
Center Road Trail (Open June-September only)
Difficulty: Easy
Length (one-way): 2.5 mi
Trailhead Location: Trail can only be accessed from the Western side of Steamboat Slough Road (must come from Skamokawa, WA). The trailhead will be 1.4 miles down on the left hand side and starts at the walk-around gate.
Note: Out and back trail, hikers MUST exit trail from the way they entered, there is no exit at the other end.

Thank you for the update. Much appreciated. Do you have any photos of the trailhead and/or the closed gate you can donate for the Field Guide?
