Photos needed for Field Guide

Post by bobcat » November 14th, 2020, 11:55 am

Here's a list of the Field Guide pages that don't have any pictures (this is an annual request):

If you have a photo of any of these places and can let us use it, please post it here along with your preferred attribution. Many thanks!

I don't have any photos, but it's worth noting that the "Fall Creek Trailhead" is officially called the "Green Lakes/Soda Creek Trailhead."

This was taken last December but it looks the same now since the recent fire didn't burn this area. I was there after Hwy 22 reopened and checked.

A couple of the Battle Creek Shelter area:

Pine Cone Creek crossing - not the best view, but you can see where the trail crosses the creek:

This is the Elk Lake Creek trail at the south end of the Battle Creek Shelter area. The site of the shelter is left of the trail in front of the rhodies. There is nothing left of the shelter except an outline on the ground.

Tombstone Pass Area

18 July 2018 photos.

The Tombstone Pass Snowpark has a pit toilet and is long and narrow, accommodating up to 50 cars. The trailhead is SE of the toilet on the east side of the parking area. What we did was walk the highway a few hundred yards East to the Cone Peak Trail, which is marked by this sign:

It appeared people were parking along the highway where the trail crosses, although the road was signed "No Parking". Up the trail, as you approach the ridge connecting Iron Mountain and Cone Peak, is a clearing with these views:

I do have a photo of the Tombstone Pass Snowpark, but my truck and travel trailer dominate the image, so don't think it will be helpful.

Thanks for the reminder, bobcat. I was table to take care of about half a dozen of these with photos I had.
