New McIntyre Trailhead Reopened
The New McIntye Trailhead has reopened. There are no barriers or closed signs. On 6/4/2019 a friend and I hiked from the New McIntyre Trailhead to the Douglas Trail, then up to Wildcat Mt, then down to the Douglas Trailhead. We did it as a car shuttle. Be aware that that last 0.1 miles up to the McIntyre Trailhead is a very rough gravel road, so cars without high ground clearance should just park at the turnaround where the paved road stops.

You're talking about this trailhead? https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guid ... _Trailhead
I thought the Forest Service was going to permanently gate that road because of all the problems with target shooting, trash, and off-roaders driving onto the trail from that access point. I thought that was the whole point of building the new Douglas Trailhead in 2009 and the new connector trail from that trailhead. Guess not.

Thanks; glad to hear it. I'd like to do that as a shuttle hike too.
