Oh believe me, surgery is the last thing on my list of desires. At this point I feel like I'm going to recover if I play my cards right. There's no reason for anybody to start cutting into my back, and it would take a lot more than just a doctor's recommendation to get me to do that.

I had two bad discs, but thankfully they were in my neck and not lower in my back. Had fusion surgery and things went really well. But, yeah, actual back surgery is some serious stuff and I'd make sure that surgery is your only option before having it. Good luck!
