Are there any poisoning snakes found in trails in Oregon? What should i know about the spices and beyond?

Yes, there are rattlesnakes, mostly on the dry side of the Cascades.

Hmm no cut n suck method? Hmm so the snake bite kit is not necessary? I ll keep reading but if u have any advice on how to proceed in case of a bite?

gaby, throw the snake bite suction kit away. it will do more harm than good.

In short, you want to stop exerting yourself as much as possible, while finding a way to a hospital as soon as possible. Yup, its the worst case scenario.... so while its important to understand what to do if bit, its as much important to learn how to avoid getting bit.

Ticks! I was bitten twice in the space of three weeks by ticks. One of my buddies at work was just recently bitten by a tick (so was his dog) while he was fishing along the Wilson River. Check out Tom Kloster's excellent blog post about ticks.

Thanks Koda for the thread, i read it all!
Now, ticks i have educated myself on that one, yucky!
Areas to learn now: spiders and scorpions? Is that true or Peder is playing? Lol
