The purpose of this forum is to help people identify things they've seen while out hiking: wildflowers, trees, birds, insects, small animals, animal tracks, even geographical features like buttes or streams

Post by Stevefromdodge » September 24th, 2008, 7:52 am

I'm looking to ID a few flowers that I saw on Hamilton Mountain last June. Any IDs would be appreciated.

Hi Steve,

I'll take a few guesses at the genera:

#1 Geum ( common name Avens)
#2 Arnica
#3 Senecio
#4 Lomatium
#5 Eriophyllum
#6 ? definitely something in the carrot family- Apiaceae. Could be an Osmorhiza- Sweet Cicely, or maybe another Lomatium

Jen
