Found a Cabin in the Ramona Falls, Sandy River area.

I find no mention of a cabin in the area on historic topos, unlike the nearby stone shelters.
Who knows the history or has a link to more info? I assume it's a CCC era building.

looks like the Sandy River Guard Station

they used to have people that stayed there to help hikers

it's been rotting away for years

Looks like the roof has caved in since 2018. That it was registered as a Historic Place in 2009 and it was being advocated for as among the most endangered places in Oregon, in 2018 by Restore Oregon. Too bad it's in collapsed shape.

The Mt. Hood National Forest does not support having structures in wilderness areas, even if they pre-date the wilderness designation, and therefore has let this building fall to pieces. This building actually been put on the National Register of Historic Places.
