Cascadia Wild has been operating motion sensored critter cameras up on Mt Hood for the past five years or so. I'm helping maintain one on Gnarl Ridge this year, one of 18 cameras up in the MHNF.
We also collect scat, and will send it in for DNA analysis if it has the possibility of belonging to one of our target species; Sierra Nevada red fox, wolf or wolverine. So far, we have not found evidence of wolverine on the mountain, but are hopeful for its return.
Check out the blog with recent findings, including mating bears!
