Another mystery flower?

The purpose of this forum is to help people identify things they've seen while out hiking: wildflowers, trees, birds, insects, small animals, animal tracks, even geographical features like buttes or streams

Another mystery flower?

Post by K.Wagner » May 6th, 2018, 6:22 am

Here's another one, same area.

I only saw this one example. Not sure if this is a seed pod, or the start of a blossom. Interesting that the left star has 4 points & the right star has 6 points.

This interesting star was at the top of its own stem. The leaves were on separate stems, seen below left & to the right.

Once I saw this example, I looked & looked for something with the same leaves & structure. I found similar leaves, but nothing with a blossom on a separate stem.
