Flower above Ice Lake

Post by derwoodynck » August 12th, 2016, 5:53 am

We saw these on the way up the Matterhorn from Ice Lake in the Wallowas on 8/1. They seem similar to western pasque flowers but the color and the seed head are different. I wondered about some type of anemone but I can't seem to find any matches. Anyone have any insight?

That looks like a winner. At least I was on the right track, there is hope for me yet.
