Cascade Brush ID

Post by K.Wagner » June 24th, 2016, 8:20 pm

I have run into this stuff a number of times. Later it has, as I recall, a white blossom. It is not so dense here, but I have seen it extremely dense & waist high, to relatively open & 8 feet high. This particular occasion was NW of Mt Adams. Adam, do you know what this is?

Looks like Cascade azalea, a.k.a. white rhododendron.

Thanks Adam, you hit it, again.

Turns out that it is a popular garden bush, and when kept trimmed it can have an amazing flower display.

I waded through about 4 miles of the stuff on that trip, and believe me, the thought of planting some in my flower bed was not high on my thought process!
