Mushroom ID?

Post by Lurch » March 28th, 2016, 5:11 pm

I'm not much of a mushroom person... But even I'm mostly sure these are Black Morels yes? I've got quite a few of them growing on the property, so I thought I'd throw it on here to find out for sure, and figure out what if anything I should do with them...

I’ve positively identified the knife as an authentic Benchmade, highly prized among knife gatherers definitely a keeper there for shure.

Im not a mushroom person but took a fancy to all the easy chantrells I find hunting in the fall so what I did was googled false chantrells to gain the confidence needed to eat what I find. I would start with a google image search of false morels then Wikipedia has a good list of ways to identify the false morels
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morchella#False_morels
cut them open they should be hollow inside if they are edible..

that quick google search Id say yours are true morels, enjoy.
lightweight, cheap, strong... pick 2
