I really admire great wilderness / nature photography... but I can't shoot it to save my life.
What are some of your all time favorite nature photographers? Ansel Adams is a classic. I love Ray Atkeson for his local connections, winter imagery, and depiction of mid-20th century skiing and backcountry touring. I also love the vibrant images of Galen Rowell, Marc Adamus, and Michael Anderson.
We've got some great local photographers here on PH as well.

Re: Your favorite photographers?
Steve Terrill is probably my favorite established photographer in the area, and Marc Adamus is a truly a remarkable up-and-coming talent - way out front of other emerging photographers in the PNW, and quickly overtaking the old pros!

Ansel adams of course, Galen Rowell, John Shaw, George Lepp, David Middleton are just a few. Locally Ray Atkeson and Steve Terrill both come to mind.

I'll echo Ansel Adams, also Clark Kinsey, John Shaw, George Lepp, Art Wolf and Jim Griggs.
