A little off subject but that slalom photo is superb. The timing of the racer approaching the gate could not be better. I am wondering if it was a single shot or one of a burst.

So I finally got the Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 ....here's a portrait
My first use indicates the lens is on par with Canon version. And for portrait, its pretty close to my best 85mm prime ... the 1.2

Now the shot of Castle Crags, taken hand held from 5 miles away. VC was enabled.
The other image is cropped from the first. Fairly crisp for hand held 5 miles away.

Thanks. For racing, I always shoot a burst of shots as they come around the gate.oldandslow wrote:A little off subject but that slalom photo is superb. The timing of the racer approaching the gate could not be better. I am wondering if it was a single shot or one of a burst.
Thanks,
