101 Things to do Humboldt cover / Tamron 70-300mm

Post by mdvaden » January 14th, 2014, 8:30 pm

Last November, I upgraded to a Canon 85mm 1.2, and someone part-traded their Tamron 70-300mm for my Sigma 85mm. Next morning found myself down in Humboldt taking photos in the harbor. One of them made a pretty decent cover for 101 Things to do in Humboldt.

This new Tamron is a wonderful lens. Better than the Canon 70-300mm I used to have.

They sent me a couple of copies, and as with the Del Norte 101 Things to Do, I do look through them for ideas, places to eat, etc.. Listed by month, a few things are:

February > Clam Beach Run in Trinidad

March > Humboldt Roller Derby in Eureka, Redwood Coast Jazz Festival

May > Avenue of the Giants Marathon, Kinetic Grand Championship Arcata / Ferndale

July > Etc., Etc.

I bolded the Kinetic sculpture event, because it's one I'm very interested to go and see. Want to see the Avenue of the Giants Marathon. And Crescent City has an old auto event each year too, farther north.
