Re: Photo galleries
How is the road to Olalie Lake? I tried that one about 10 years ago and was denied with a blown tire 2/3rds of the way through...any improvements to it since?
Re: Photo galleries
They regraded it in '06 and it was almost like a regular road for a summer. Last year it was still in pretty decent shape. Enough so that passenger cars were having no problem as long as they didn't go too fast. It was a little rougher continuing on to Monon Lake but still ok. Of course after Horseshoe Lake, forget it...
Keep in mind that the store, cabins, etc. will all stay closed this year. Apparently they were pretty much falling apart. The campgrounds will be open but that's it. But there's some absolutely great campsites (there's a couple trip reports in the archives with pictures of the campsites right on the lake) and it's definitely worth the trip! There are a bunch of hiking trails that head out from or pass thru there too.

I'm thinking a 3 day trip into Jeff Park from there would be fun/different than the usual whitewater approach.
