I like #1 better as well. The second photo is nice, but plain. #1 is artistic and plays on your imagination. It's overall impact is much more powerful. Beautiful shot!

Hmm... I'm leaning towards # 1 also...compelled me to envision a quote scribed over the calm waters, maybe...

Tell your daughter she is now part of a larger group that sports the proud tradition of hiking on Thanksgiving Day. My parents dragged my little butt out into the snow fields of Iowa right after the table was cleared to walk off all that turkey tryptophan. It always worked, from the '60s to the present.
Now a vegetarian, I skip the turkey and just head outside. I like Jane's idea of hot peppermint tea on the trail. That sounds just amazing. Or how about steaming Chai with velvety soy milk and a dash of stevia? Then there's yerba mate with a drop or two of almond essense and a little honey paired with fresh pumpkin bread....
...is anyone else getting hungry?
