On top of Mt. Wright, near Wrightwood, California, on the PCT. April 2008. It's a Hennessy Hammock. I love the hammock, would have a hard time going back to hard ground.

Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo in Wyoming's Wind Rivers:
Tarptent Rainshadow (in rear) and Six Moon Designs Lunar Solo (foreground) at Shi-Shi Beach, Olympic NP, WA.
I have since sold the Lunar Solo; it's a bit too cramped for both me and Hysson (see avatar) and is more condensation-prone than Henry Shires' Tarptents. I have reverted to the Tarptent Squall 2, my first lightweight tent. This photo was taken 2 years ago when my grandson JP was 6 (as you can tell from the gap-toothed grin).

Re: Tents in action
Since I work in retail and I took all of September off to travel in Europe, I only had a few opportunities to backpack or camp this summer. My friend and I hit McNeil Point in early July, just when it was becoming accessible.
The only other time I got to set up the tent was in May, at Hebo Lake in the coast range. This shot doesn't do justice to the mud and the fog - all three tents are still visible...
