Knowing what you can or can't eat in the wild could be a great thing to know too!
John's classes are fun, educational, and yes - a new experience to nosh weeds, cattails, flower roots, and more. Sometimes his classes are in the woods, the coast, the neighborhoods, or the classroom... His season is winding down but this looks like an interesting class offered Sunday:
Wild Foods in Wilderness Survival $18
Sunday, August 24, 2008, 1 - 4pm.
Location: Portland, OR.

Description: Learn how to determine if and when wild foods are desirable to use, which plants to seek, what are your priorities in both recreational and unplanned survival situations. See major poisonous plants. This core workshop provides a deeper understanding for all other workshops. Anyone genuinely serious about wild foods will benefit from this presentation. Lecture/slides.
