Has anyone used one of these before?

Could it be true? I am skeptical.

I am equally skeptical based on some recent published tests on mosquito repellant options.

Reviews are mixed on Amazon and after quickly reading a few it wasn't clear why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Not sure I'd take a gamble on it.
