Sleeping Pads

Post by Kuhlmann » April 12th, 2016, 7:13 am

We have a problem - We frequently go camping with our two dogs, a small mutt and a medium sized Cattle Dog (about 45 lbs). Since we adopted the cattle dog we can not keep our air mattresses from getting holes. This happens both car camping with a queen sized air mattress and backpacking with more expensive gear. What are some suggestions or tips that have worked for you. At this point we cant find all the holes to repair and don't want to keep buying mattresses. At this point we may just choose cots for car camping.

Thanks!

Closed cell is superior to air mattress in terms of durability and versatility, and IMO with a little planning and prep on your camp location they can be just as comfortable and warm. You could also consider switching to a hammock

Buy dog booties and always make sure the dog has them on before getting into the tent.
Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again.
