Gnarl Ridge and other fires

The Gnarl Ridge fire is actively burning again, and several other fires are burning too, thanks to the recent dry weather.

I posted the above link under the "Red Flag Warning--Gnarl Ridge" trip report thread http://www.portlandhikers.org/forum/vie ... ?f=8&t=887, but decided to post it here also for added emphasis.
Let's hope that the rain forecast for early next week will knock these fires down again and clear our atmosphere so the moon and sun will be their normal colors. Of course, if it's raining, we won't see either of those celestial bodies! More important, though, are the buildings (Tilly Jane cabins and historic Cloud Cap Inn) and the residences in the Cooper Spur Ski Area that are threatened.
