Forest Service to Sell Estacada Property

The Forest Service is selling property formerly used to administer part of the Mt. Hood National Forest. 6.83 acres of land at Estacada including three residences and six storage/warehouse buildings are being offered to the public for bid. Interested bidders may view the property, at one of three open houses scheduled from 10-3 on Saturday, August 23rd, Wednesday, September 17th, and Saturday, September 20th.

Sale of the property is being conducted through the General Services Administration (GSA). The open date for bidding on this sale is August 28, 2008. For more information on the Estacada Administrative Site, or to place a bid, visit the GSA property disposal website at http://www.auctionrp.com/

The property and buildings have been vacant since January 2008. Under special conveyance authority, national forests may sell sites which are surplus to their needs for market value. Proceeds from the sale may then by used to maintain other Forest Service administrative sites.
