Oh how tragic! The photo is not worth the risk! Use telephoto and stay safe! Prayers and condolences to the family, and the friends who had to witness and now process through this :(

I'm in that area frequently and from the forest below you can see the dots of people on the mountain top. Using binos on every occasion I see people climb over the fence and wonder around the edge.

It's tragic and my thoughts go out to his family, but this was a risk he should not have taken. The state puts fences in areas like this for a reason, including signs such as this;

That list -- they're all 30 and under! They think they can't be harmed.
