Oregon's Ten Most Endangered Places

Post by Grannyhiker » September 3rd, 2009, 11:36 am

No doubt each of us could pick another ten, or consider other solutions than those suggested, but here are Oregon Wild's picks for the year:

http://www.oregonwild.org/about/press-r ... res%29.pdf

Here are their ten:
Crater Lake Wildlands
Tule Lake and Lower Klamath Lake National Wildlife Refuges
Oregon’s Yellowstone—Siskiyou Wild Rivers
Clackamas River Watershed
Wallowa Whitman National Forest
Steens Mountain
Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area
Tillamook and Clatsop State Forests
Lookout Mountain
Wild Rogue
This document is worth a read. It contains lots of "eye candy," too--a picture is worth a thousand words!

really good article, congrats to Greg for getting his shot of Steens on there...seems as the lookout mountain shot is corrupted? maybe just for me...either way awesome article...i liked the fact of the 9,000 miles of roads in the Wallowa-Whitman, ORV proposed area
