This is why I always secure my car keys before coming near a grate in the street/parking lot, a restroom, boat dock, etc. The life-defining moment: how badly do I want to retrieve it? In the case of a cell phone, I wonder how well it would work after the big splash and how much cleaning would be needed before using it again. At the very least, I would be using the speaker phone option for a long, long time.

But Da-a-aaadd! They used to dive into cesspools on M-TVeeee-eeeee-eeeee.......
Rescue crews strongly recommended that she seek medical attention after being exposed to human waste, but the woman declined.
They should have also directed her to a psychotherapist who could help out with her cell phone addiction.

Can't fix stupid though.
