Sure, but technology is not the solution to incompetency. I once met a guy in the Starvation parking lot, in winter, with snow down to the road, who had an actual GPS unit that he didn't know how to use so he was just going to leave it in the car.

I can attest that having a GPS is no solution. I was doing a school project comparing 8 different GPS unit accuracy/precision and while carrying this board around on my shoulder, I needed a paper map to make sure I was on the right trails :D
