Wildwood bridge over Burnside narrowly escaped landslide

Post by Chip Down » January 13th, 2021, 3:43 pm

The Barbara Walker Crossing, which takes Wildwood Trail traffic over Burnside, was the site of a slide. Trees and powerlines are across Burnside, and at least one tree landed on the bridge. No major damage that I can see. That was a ridiculously expensive elaborate bridge. Glad to see it survived. Would have been a shame if it took a million dollars and a long delay to get it open again.

What I would expect from PBOT/ODOT is to now go there and cut every tree within 200 feet of the bridge just to prevent this from happening again.
