This was closed last time I tried going there so we walked the levee instead. This must be why. Sounds like a win win kind of project. Always nice to read news that isn't dire as usual.

They do look for volunteers at times, if that's to anyone's interest. I don't know how pandemic restrictions have affected that.

I think the project is pretty cool even though it means that the hiking opportunities on the refuge will be limited for a while.
