Hiker Falls at Oneonta Falls....
Hiker Falls at Oneonta Falls....
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir
Re: Hiker Falls at Oneonta Falls....
Hmmm... It sounds like he must have fallen on that short section just above the bridge from the Horsetail falls trail to the Triple Falls trail. There is an off-trail path that heads straight up-stream from there to get up to the "original" Oneonta falls. It passess that small waterfall right next to that bridge, but you do need to be very careful as it is narrow. It sounds like he must have fallen into the pool at the base and then scrambled out into the shallows just above the popular road-side wade Oneonta falls, and couldn't scramble up the slope to get back up to the bridge. Wow, a good warning to others who take that path.
