Storm causes minor damage to Forest Roads

Contact: 503-392-5128, Nate Lewis

November 14, 2008

Hebo, OR -- Heavy rain and flooding throughout Tillamook and Lincoln County left trees, branches, and debris in most roadways on the Hebo Ranger District. However, storm damage overall was relatively minor with only one road closed to protect public safety.

“The public is advised to use extreme caution while traveling on forest roads during this time,” said District Ranger George Buckingham. “Many hazards exist on the forest both seen and unseen.”

Road 2283 is the only key road closed at this point, but road conditions can change at any time. Forest soils are very saturated and trees and debris may continue to clog roadways.

For up-to-date information on road conditions or questions regarding specific roads, please contact the Hebo Ranger District office at (503) 392-5100.
