Wolverine Tracking Project

Post by CascadiaWild » September 24th, 2011, 11:12 am

Interested in the animals that live on Mt Hood? Love to snowshoe?
Join the Wolverine Tracking Project, a volunteer survey program through Portland-based Cascadia Wild. Develop animal tracking skills, enjoy group trips in a winter wonderland, and walk in the path of cougars.  Season cost is $50; family discounts and work trade available. Learn more at www.cascadiawild.org or 503-235-9533. Training sessions begin on Oct 19th.

The Wolverine Tracking Project provides an opportunity to learn the ancient art of animal tracking while at the same time helping to survey for rare carnivores on the Mt Hood National Forest. Through training in the fall and survey trips all winter long, participants build a solid background in animal tracking. Our experienced trip leaders help each participant become more knowledgeable about the region and feel a personal connection to the land. No previous experience necessary.
