Celebrate National Public Lands Day
(Saturday, September 27th, 2008)

Help prepare trails and facilities south of Mount St. Helens for the Fall/Winter Season
What?: Join us for a volunteer event to help clear overgrown vegetation and repair trail tread
and facilities on the south side of Mount St. Helens for the fall/winter season.
When?: Saturday, September 27th - registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with work parties to
begin around 10:30 a.m. At 4:00 p.m., the work party will be followed by Volunteer barbecue and potluck at the shelter at Marble Mountain Sno-Park.
Where?: Meet at Marble Mountain Sno-Park on the 83 Road on the south side of Mount St. Helens.

Who?: Students, community groups, businesses, and river enthusiasts of all ages are needed to
come out and join in the fun! Please bring a water bottle, work gloves and wear sturdy boots. Come dressed for “rain or shine” weather.
How?: The Mount St. Helens Institute is partnering with the USDA Forest Service, Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, REI, Columbia Sportswear, Peet's Coffee and Leatherman to organize this event.
