Oregon Wild Wednesday: Avocets and Acoustics
Join Oregon Wild in exploring the beauty and diversity of an Oregon wonder. Tucked into the southern reaches of the state, the Klamath Basin plays host to a myriad of migratory bird species every year. This is a place where snow geese congregate in the tens of thousands, American White Pelicans dip their slender beaks in search of fish, and bald eagles gather in their largest numbers in the continental United States.
Come see the spectacular images of professional photographer Brett Cole as we tour the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge celebrating its 100th anniversary this year as the oldest migratory waterfowl refuge in the nation. Oregon Wild Klamath Campaign Coordinator Ani Kame’enui will be your guide.
Setting the mood for an evening of breathtaking photos will be Kabir Green. Kabir is a singer, songwriter, and poet living in Portland, OR. His music combines the sounds of blues, rock, country, bluegrass, and gospel. Kabir will play an acoustic set, accompanied by cello and violin. Listen to Kabir's music at http://www.myspace.com/kabirgreen.
