Post by Shoofly » March 29th, 2016, 4:43 pm

Angel’s Rest Trail, Columbia Gorge
Tuesday, April 5, 8:30 AM-3:30 PM

Project description
The upper half of the trail needs work on drainage. Drain dips need to be cleaned and/or widened. Near the summit, water runs freely down a series of switchbacks. We will be addressing these issues during this work party.

Hiking information
The trail is moderately steep, and we will be hiking 1.5-2 miles to the work site. You will be carrying tools while hiking to the work site,

What to expect

No experience is necessary. You will be working with experienced, friendly crew leaders to improve water drainage on the trail. We will work rain or shine. The work party will not be cancelled due to weather. There are no toilet facilities at the trailhead.

What to bring

Lunch and plenty of water
Rain gear (jacket and pants)
Work gloves (an extra pair to change into at lunch is a good idea, particularly if it is rainy)
Extra set of clothes to change into in case it is wet

What to wear
Boots (tennis shoes are not allowed)
Long sleeve shirt recommended
Eye protection recommended (glasses, sunglasses or safety glasses). TKO will supply hard hats, and safety glasses if needed.
