Oregon Wild Wednesday: Girl Gone Wild

Post by Oregon Wild » March 3rd, 2015, 3:37 pm

With all the buzz about Cheryl Strayed's 'Wild,' there's been a brighter spotlight on wilderness in the Pacific Northwest and the women exploring it. Writer, geologist, and outdoor guru Ruby McConnell not only explores the wild, but also the concept of women in the wilderness and our role as humans to protect wild places. We're excited to have her (and you!) join us for a special Oregon Wild Wednesday on Wednesday, March 25th from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ruby will discuss wilderness, real and perceived barriers for women in the outdoors, and her upcoming book, A Woman's Guide to the Wilderness. In addition, hear from Oregon Wild staff about the work they do to protect wilderness and connect people to the outdoors.

This free and all ages event will be hosted by our friends at Base Camp Brewing Co. (930 SE Oak Street, Portland) so you can enjoy their delicious craft brews and fare from the Koi Fusion food cart!

The presentation will begin shortly after 6 p.m. and seating is limited, so make sure to get there early to grab a good spot.
