Volunteers Wanted - Mt. Adams Highline Trail Work - August

Post by Ryan Ojerio » July 31st, 2013, 9:52 am

Hello Hikers,

We're looking for a few hardy folk to join our Washington Trails Association Aug. 16-19 trail work party on the Highline Trail. The crew will be doing annual maintenance (brushing, treadwork, drainage maintenance and possibly some cairn and rock ford repair). This is one of our Backcountry Response Teams where the crew is self-supported and self contained. Ideally the volunteer would be able to commit to the entire trip for safety reasons. If you would like to join - please use the link below to register. If you're interested, but can't make the entire trip, give me a call (360) 722-2657.

Campsite: The north side of Mt. Adams offers some of the region's best alpine scenery complete with colorful meadows, sweeping vistas and sparkling glaciers. But the longer drive and approach hike mean more opportunities for solitude compared to the more popular south side. The Foggy Flats camp site is a rugged 5 mile hike and 1,600 feet of elevation gain, but worth the effort.
