The Washington Trails Association is hosting a weekend work party, volunteers needed for one or both days.
Resting on a high plateau, this wilderness area was a gathering spot for many Native people attracted by the abundance of huckleberries and the opportunities for trade with other tribes. Volunteers needed to maintain parts of the Indian Racetrack trail. This work crew will focus on annual trail maintenance including cleaning out drainages, brushing, and tread restoration
Looking for a great way to give back to the trails you love, have an adventure and camp out with come new friends? Check out one of WTA’s featured weekend work parties this summer! WTA scopes out the trail project and a group campsite, provides after work refreshments and cooks a main dish for Saturday’s Potluck. Come for one day or two, bring a side-dish or dessert to share if you’d like to stay for dinner. Volunteers can earn an annual NW Forest Pass for their service and camping is typically free.
