NEW DATE! July 12 (Sat) Silver Star Mountain Strenuous/8.7mi/2100ft
Vibrant meadows of beargrass, lupine, and Indian paintbrush give new life to the high ridges of a vast burn area in Southwest Washington. A sweeping, panoramic view from atop Silver Star Mountain takes in the Columbia River and neighboring Cascade peaks. This northern approach offers more scenery and is less steep than the Grouse Vista approach from the south. The last 3 miles of road to the trailhead are severely rutted (and mildly hairy) and not recommended for passenger cars. Group size limited to 12. Reservations required. Meet 8:30am at Gateway Transit Center.
