Oregon Hikers

I am new to the site, though I have used the info here for a bit. I have one day off...Sundays. I am in my mid 50's, and very fit. I like moderate to difficult hikes in the 3-15 mile range. I hike pretty quick....2-3/hr including uphill. I run my own business in downtown Gresham.

I usually get started between 8-9 am. Look forward to hearing from some of you! Ideal would be 2-3 folks maybe.

I am sorry nobody replied. I am still pretty new to this forum but the people generally seem more friendly than that. Perhaps your requirements put off some people. Maybe all the Sunday hikers like to go slow?

That is common. Someone proposes hiking and no one responds.

Maybe people are wary of hiking with an anonymous internet person. You never know if someone is an ax murderer.

You have to be persistent. Try different approaches. Try different websites or organizations.

Maybe respond to someone else's request.

I've advertised for partners for a climbing trip or two on here, but I think we all just have our own habits, partners, etc. Given the vagaries of scheduling, pace, favorite hikes, and whatnot, it's probably more likely that you'll have success by going on Meetup or Mazama hikes. That way, you can meet individuals who gel well with you, personality wise, and then plan other trips with them. Best of luck! (I work Sundays.)
