Car extraction from Bridal Veil Creek

Post by Don Nelsen » February 22nd, 2015, 6:05 pm

For anyone interested , Mt. Hood Loop Towing will attempt to remove some of the cars in the creek and on the canyon wall of Bridal Veil Creek this coming Tuesday, Feb 24.

I will be meeting Sheriff's deputy Joe Graziano and Katy Sword, reporter for the Gresham outlook at 9 am at the Angel's Rest parking lot. The location of the event is exactly one mile uphill from the start of the graveled part of Palmer Mill Road. The road will be impassible at that point during the operation. Easiest access will be hiking from the gated portion of Palmer Mill road down to the site. I'm not sure if the sheriff will officially close the road but regardless, it will be blocked.

Some of the cars (hopefully) to be removed:

Success! They pulled out the cars in photos one and four and said they will come back for at least two more later.

More later.

I saw the story and your interview on KOIN News this evening. I was suprised that the one car was last registered in 1986. It was also interesting to see the tow company is only paid for the scrap value if the car if its not the responsibility of an insurance company.
